Hi Gents. 1150GS been stored for a couple of years, has been fired up once in that time about 12 months ago. Now working my way slowly but surely through a 12K service, looking forward to getting some miles in over the summer :bounce1

Oil was changed before storage. Am I right in thinking no need for another change after two years? Sorry if it's a daft question! :hide Also, considering she's been sitting idle for a length of time, anything else worth double checking outside the usual service items? :nenau

Just get on it and drive it. I would not worry too much. Should be fine its a GS after all.

Believe me, I'm practically counting down the hours until Monday's MOT! :D

Brake and clutch fluid worth changing to be honest! :rob

Especially! if its the Servo ABS!

That'll be next on the list :)

Still have an issue with a sticking piston in the rear calliper, have completely rebuilt the seals but no joy. New strategy is to give it a few thousand miles of use and see what happens :D

That could be the pad pin. Over time it wears a hard to spot dip which can stop the brake working well. 6 quid replacement

Sorry not sure which part you mean (genuinely)... is it 11?

Yup, 11. You can get stainless replacements… much better.:thumb2

From where please?

I AM really grateful for the pointer and am pretty convinced that must be the issue...

...but ffs that means I have to dismantle that fiddly arse shit again with my stupid feckin hobbit thumbs :D

Coming on nicely now...

Done:
new K60s
painted and fitted Neil's cylinder guards
sorted power for gps (my phone :D)
adjusted valves/rockers/fanbelt
waterproofed panniers with silicone

Still to do:
Brake/clutch fluids
Balance TBs
Remove crash bars
Refit sump guard
Replace the fiddly arse calliper pin
A few cold bevvies :beerjug:

Try Chris Shaw Stainless 01790 755515. He is on ebay also. hth

Sweet bike. Keep er lit. Brake fluid change is really handy with a vacuum pump if u have or can borrow one. For the seals clean them with a toothbrush then rub brake fluid around the seals with ur finger. Wipe off excess and reinstall ferodo pads. The oil will relube and soften any sticky rubber up for u.
