Hi All,

I have just my 1150GS back together after installing some quick release on the fuel lines under the tank (purchased from Motorworks pattern types) and changing fuel filter!

The bike is running terrible took ages to start stops on Open Throttle and also is constantly showing empty! and Yes! I did put fuel in the tank at least 6/7 litres.

anyway will pop check back later to see your responses.

Cheers

Check your throttle cables are seated correctly. If you search there are photos posted on here by Steptoe to show you how they should be seated. Also check that the electrical connector on the right hand side of the tank is fully home. That feeds the RID fuel gauge. It is possible to get the float hooked up when installing the fuel filter/pump, it will not move so wont show a change in level.

Have you checked the throttle cables are seated correctly in the throttle bodies?

Check this ...

... if you've been fiddling under the tank; it's by your right boot. Be aware the 'hang-up' can be less obvious but still cause issues :thumb

If you've had the pump out then you have either bent the float arm, or, more likely, put the assembly in one rotation the wrong way. It is possible to put the pump assembly in rotated one bolt too far (can't remember clockwise/anti-clockwise). This is usually indicated by the overflow pipes being quite tight to the connectors by the battery. I've done it myself!

This should help you check if the plate is fitted correctly...
