Bike passed the MOT brake test, with the engine not running.

So how do you know if you have the servo assist brakes or not ? We're they around in 2002 ?![]()
The MOT test is a very basic one in which the bike/vehicle meets the minimum standard set out in the Testers Manual. I wouldn't be surprised if the brakes could pass without the servo assistance.
Just because a bike/car/truck/bus has "just passed it's MOT mate" means it's in good condition. All the test certificate tells you is that the bike/vehicle met the minimum standard when it was presented for test.
believe me, an MOT pass without the servo working is in my opinion farcical.
Suggest you read the OP again.I've had road bikes with less brakes than 1200 residual and ridden them for many thousands of miles. They all passed MOTs too.
We're all mollycoddled these days...

Suggest you read the OP again.![]()
Servo brakes were introduced to the gs with the twinspark in 2003 iirc. Came on the RTs from 2001.
I've got a 2002 GSA single spark which had servo brakes on it ( until I threw them away and got a set of working brakes instead..)
