1150GS wont starting problem

I have to say Cannons were very prompt... They picked the bike up about 1 hour after I phoned!

I'll let you all know what it turns out to be..

Thanks again for the advice.. :D

Hi there,
I wish I could have seen this earlier.
I also had recently a few problems with my GS1150 (look for thread... 1150 won´t start, sounds like a machine gun).
I don't know what the problem could be, but to die over night, most likely is on the electrics. A good revision to all conectors, fuses and relays is a MUST for these "old ladies" in this winter here.
This weekend I could have paid you a visit and take all my tools to try to help you out. Good luck mate anyway!

Cheers for all the guidence...

Righto... I have an update from Cannons..

Bike is done..

Hall sensor replaced - main problem - caused much head scratching
ABS sensors also fried.. replaced
Full service

The bike even gave their mechanics a real headache, as nothing showed up as actully wrong... But they got there in the end!

And to give them full credit... they are only charging me for minimal labour/disgnostic time even though it took the mechanic a whole day to sort out!

So... Thumbs up to Cannons service!

I'm looking forward to collecting the bike this afternoon... (cracking birthday prezzie eh)...

:D cheers again for all the help and guidance...

Good to get the old girl running again no doubt.:thumb
If Cannons have impressed you with their service, why not let others know with a post in the "Dealer" section.

My 1100GS has just done exactly the same thing, I gave the bike a good clean then then it would not start, so I changed the plugs and it started but would only idle for 15 seconds or so, as soon as you try to rev it the engine dies, I've removed the Hall sensor and there is a patch missing on the top sensor.
Out of interest, how much did Cannons charge for the sensor ?

Thanks
Peter
