Thanks for the link, i'll PM him, got a few questions :)

I also like the standard GSA silver and red, so the colour isnt a bit deal, as long as it one of the above! seen a couple on here, just getting used to how the site works. :D

PM him. That's the way with bikes you see. Ping a PM for Q's etc. Many of the ADV bits are expensive to buy 2nd hand. Keep it the std colour if poss in my 'umble.

Thats the one to go for and only £4000 !! Were I in the market for one I'd be beating a track to his door ,may need a bit of cosmetic work but its one of the last GSA 1150's

What you will probably find is there is an excellent market for GS's and GSA's on here that are a bit "cosmetically challenged". This does not detract from the mechanical condition at all and they will probably still be just as good a bike to ride and live with.

The "minter" will still command a higher price as there is still an OCD cleanliness faction (:D) who will demand this:augie

I personally don't give a crap about a bit of corrosion as i like to keep and eye on the road when i'm driving:D

Unless you are thinking you may px at an early date, then take one of these bargains as they look really good value for money.

Some of my shiniest purchases have been the ones with simple, unfixed problems...:augie

Wrigsby1- thanks for the advise. I like the way you think and I'm not too fussed about a little corrosion as long as the bike is mechanically sound!
Don't suppose you have seen any you would recommend either here or elsewhere?
Cheers

Keep an eye out here as it's the selling season. Also ebay have had some good looking deals. ADV's have come down in price over the last 12 months and there have been two ADV's with corrosion that have been up on the forum in the last 2/3 weeks. Also the ADV with carbs and a host of other useable stuff might still have his bike for sale.

I liked that one a lot! Over £4k but...

If not, "there will be another one along in a min":D

Wrigsby, thanks for the link, but unfortunately over budget, i think i am pushing it a bit looking under 4k! keep them coming though please :D

motorhome, cheers for letting me know, just been through the for sale section, if you could bang the link on here it would be appreciated. What is the advantage of the carbs? Sorry prob a stupid question

Cheers gents

No particular advantage but they seem to give a good torque curve. See:

http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=236298&highlight=1100+carb

Some folk like the carbs when doing big trips, some trust the injection. I liked the filled in torque curve on the 1100 as there is a bit of a dio on the injected models which is difficult to tune out. 11's were originally developed with 40mm Bings according to the article.

Happy learning:D

PS Motorhome's carbed ADV just seems a good well thought out collection of non bling mods that many a GSer will appreciate.:thumb2
