1150GSA engine cut out

Hi, can anyone help me? My friend has an 1150gs adventure, and on occasions after riding for a while, when he pulls the clutch in to change gear the revs drop and the engine dies . But when on tick over, its on just under 1000rpm. So wondering wot it might be? any help would be great!

Would this be as he's coming to a stop, or at speed in any gear ?.

Although the tickover sounds a bit low .

Forgot to ask - is it a twin spark or single

Its a twin spark. And it cuts out at any speed in any gear change. He is taking it back to the dealer soon, but i thought i would do some research for him first! Thanks everyone.
