Engine cut out

hmmmm...seems to be one thing after another....I'm having electrical issues.

Turn the ignition on, usual whirring and clicking, bike in neutral but doesn't show on dash, fiddle with lever and it comes on. Sitting on centre stand with side stand down, starts, runs for a while then conks out, can anyone tell me if they have had this before, and could it be a micro switch from stand that I'd dodgy?

The side stand and gear indicators use potentiometers. Check the wiring but the pots don't last for ever.

Does it do the same with sidestand up?

Probably a faulty gear position indicator potentiometer. Bike will stop if it thinks it's in gear with the side stand down. Plenty of threads about water ingress into the gear position indicator causing trouble (easily fixed).
