1150GSA tank; used worth?

If you have one for sale I'll give you £150... :D

If you want to buy one they seem to range from £250-£400 depending on condition etc.....

If you can find one... I've been looking for two years...on and off...

I have one on my 1100; as well as an 1150GSA beak.

I'm wondering if it is financially viable to buy a used 1100 tank and beak, and sell the GSA items.

I know it might sound minor, but if I can come out £100-£200 ahead, it means I can do something useful like insure the bike for a year, get new tyres, etc.

That's encouraging; mine is pristine.

With that said.. I advertised it with a start of 99pence and it was early spring... prime bike buying time... though they don't come up too often so someone with a view to sorting the bike out over winter may snap it up!

How much would all-new tank internals be?

I'm beginning to think there isn't much mileage (ahem) in making the switch for economic reasons alone.

I picked up an 1100GS kalahari yellow, tank, beak and rear mudguard all for £120 earlier this year. All in good condition. They don't come up very often, but if you are prepared to wait, ebay or the for sale section on here might come up trumps.

I need the internals from an 1100.

Tbh, I have very little idea what these 'internals' are :D

Well... I got the 'face plate'... the bit that bolts onto the tank and stops the petrol from coming out. Attached to it was everything that you would pull out of the tank from a new 1100/1150.... including the pump, filter, hoses, fuel level sender arm thing... etc etc.

There is a whole set, in white, on ebay for £199.

What I have to balance is the £199 outlay, plus post or pick up, plus fitting and sundries, versus the amount I could get for the ADV tank and beak.

A bit of a quandry, because I could end up out of pocket, which is not the plan!!

True, the ones I bought were close by so I picked them up. Pretty awkward to pack up and ship I'd imagine. (Well if you wanted to be sure they wouldn't get damaged in transit.)

Did you get this sorted? If not I've got a couple of 1100 tanks, red or black, and a red beak.Maybe willing to throw a bit of cash your way as well.
Dave.
