Height Issue
Hi Bill
Cant help with the physical sit on bit but I have a GSA1150, 31.5" inside leg, so thought this info might be useful.
To make it comfortable to handle, (& still cant get feet anything like flat on ground) I fitted standard GS length Ohlins (you also need the standard GS centrestand, the sidestand is fine) with Sargent low seat - the BMW GSA low seat is like a plank after not may miles - don't go that way. I'm told that fitting the shorter shocks does improve the handling, but as I only rode home from the dealership & then fitted them I personally can't really comment.
You really do need to be in full control at low speeds / standstill as the bugger IS a heavy beast, & when the tank is full there's a lot of weight carried high up. Despite this it really is a great bike, massive road presence & solidly made - but the 1200 is more nimble in the twisties, but a good rider on an 1150GSA (Hi Micky

) can really hustle the beast.
With these mods the bike still looks exactly the same as any other GSA (except for the lovely yellow Ohlins

) - I agree that fitting the GS subframe does spoil the bike's looks.
Does you local dealer not have a bike you could try, worth checking.
Hope this helps
Ade
