Has anyone fitted either the KTM or the Touratech comfort seat to the ride.
I was hoping to get some feed back before digging deep to purchase one. I think that its a piss take that KTM sell a comfort seat, why not fit it as standard, robbing bastards.

If you're talking about the 2 piece Ergo seat for the 1190S then I can say it is a massive improvement over the standard seat (for me. YMMV of course). The rider seat that is. I don't have the pillion.

I've been using it today on my 1190R and it's a revelation there too.

The Ergo Comfort seat was originally heated but you can now get a non heated version which looks exactly the same. It's a whole lot cheaper and to be honest who the hell needs a heated seat on an 1190?

I have a one piece seat as I have a R. I was thinking of going two piece, well the front part at least and fit a platform to the rear half.

I didn't know that, thanks.

I know what you mean re the heat. I removed the SRS valves and de-catted the pipe, it runs a lot cooler now. Shame I didn't do it before I rode across the states, my nuts wouldn't have got poached :blast

its great!

Anyway - is the one piece the exact amalgam of both singles or are they diff shapes entirely?

The one piece (on the R) is a very different shape to the separate rider/pillion seats. It's much flatter and, IIRC, the riders section is narrower on the one piece. I did a couple of thousand miles on our summer hols and was fine with it, as was Amanda on the back. Mind you, I've never yet fitted an after market seat to any bike so maybe I'm not the best person to comment on seat comfort?

there is also an Ergo 1 piece seat available to fit all the Adventure series too. not tried that one, but i'd like too as it's the best looking option. IIRC it's £400 odd though and heated only which as Nice 'n'Fat says is entirely unnecessary on these bikes.

all the Ergo seats add about 20mm to the seat height, which might be important. they squish down more though.

Speak for yourselves, I like the heated seat as well. Last I was on the bike it was 4c pitch black and pissing down. No bike is a good place to be in that weather but with grips and seat on it was about as good as it gets.
