I cannot believe the problems I have suffered trying to get a straightforward 12 month service and some warranty work at Copper Reading.
1. On 7th June an afternoon spent there whilst they inspect the bike and tell me they are ordering the warranty parts. Work booked for 21st July.
2. Reminder on 18th June to take the bike for service 20th June
3. Five calls from Coopers before they sort out the date is 21st July
4. On 22nd June a phone call asking why I hadn't delivered the bike for service.
5. Bike delivered on 20th July for service next day.
6. Nothing heard by 28th July so I ring them. 'Oh sorry we forgot to call you the bike's ready, it's all been done'.
7. Except it's not, because they haven't replaced the tank side panel they came undone. Collect bike.
8. Contact three different people, all giving different stories about whether the panels are ordered/will be replaced on warranty.
9. 400 miles after service, rear brake making strange metallic noise. That will be the rear pads worn to the backing plate then. Bike recovered to Coopers.
In the 32 years I have owned bikes, I think this is the most abysmal service I have suffered. To make matters worse, they still won't decide if they are replacing the panels under warranty.
Has anyone has a similar experience, is there any point complaining to BMW UK or local Trading Standards.
