Thought I might share my solution for mounting the Garmin 2610 to the 1200 using a Touratech bracket if its of any use to anyone.

Take an 8mm coach bolt with approx 30mm of thread, cut the head off, thread 8mm nuts on (to protect the threads), place in vice and heat just above threaded portion to cherry red, take hammer and bend bolt to 90 degrees.

Allow to cool (recommended) Remove 8mm nuts not required, thread 1 number nut onto bolt. Remove 1 number bolt from handle bar retaining clamp, thread new (bent) bolt into threaded hole using 8mm nut to clamp secure.

Sheath shank of bolt with rubber sleeve, (the Touratech mounting clamps, designed to clamp to the cross bar of the 1150 are larger diameter than an 8mm bolt)

Bolt Touratech mounting to new bolt mounting and vioala!

I couldnt find any dealer offering anything sensible. I picked up on the thread for the product from Rainbow, but they said that they had withdrawn it and a new manufacturer was not going to be set up for a while.

Autocom (where I bought the Garmin and the Toratech bracket) recommended a Ram mount. However, I expained to them that there was not much point in having a lockeable Touratech bracket if all you have to do is undo a Ram mount to remove the unit! (or did I miss something?)

Hope this is of some use or at least some source of amusement if ive got it wrong, but i dont think so and the end result is pucker.

Regards

Done some pictures. The coach bolt (£1.15 from B&Q) needs to be about 120mm long. When mounted, doesnt block view of clocks either.
