HAVENT DONE MANY POSTS BUT IVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS KEEPING A CHARGE IN THE BATTERY FOR MORE THAN 5DAYS IF IT IS LEFT STANDING.IVE GOT A TOM TOM RIDER AND AUTOCOM WIRED UP TO THE AUX SOCKET SO I KNOW THESE ARE NOT DRAINING THE BATTERY . I EVEN SENT THE BIKE BACK TO BMW AS IT IS ONLY 4 MONTHS OLD AND THEY SAID EVERYTHING WAS OK. Turn your CAPS LOCK off for a start

It's a 1200...................so ask for a new battery under warranty and the dealer to check the bike out

What dealer did you take it to? TomTom navigators have been causing problems with the newer bikes,as if you wire them into the factory nav plug or the aux cigy plug they can keep the bus awake after switch off or switch the bus on/off at random times. This will drain your battary.
Your best bet is to unplug it when not in use.
You need to take it to a dealer to check the battary drain, and check the battary.

Don't know if this will help

BUT

my alarmed 1200ADV has stood for 3 weeks+ without a charge and then started first time.

I'd investigate the Sat Nav and the battery.

Battery

Disconnect the sat nave, even if this is only taking a very small cuurent it will be taking this current for 24hrs a day and this will drain it in five days. At least draind enough not to start the bike.

Loads of posts about the various 1200 models and their poor battery performance. Do a search on the forum.

Bottom line - fit an Odyssey 535 and you can forget about battery problems.

Had exactly the same problem ... got it checked out by the dealer ( Thanks Darrren @ Vines ) and the problem was tracked down to the TomTom rider. The cradle has a chip in it that keeps the CanBus open and draws a trickle current from . The answer - Pull the power socket from the bottom of the cradle every time I don't ride for more than 24 hrs -end of problem :thumb2

Same problem here - RAM cradle on a Quest does same thing - draws a minute charge even when GPS unit removed. Disconnect is the answer. :thumb2
