1200 ADV Cracked Screen

Washing my bike Saturday noticed that the area around three of the four fixing bolts holding the screen in position had cracked these cracks varied in length from about 10mm to 40mm, also the area around one of the winglet fixing bolts on either side had cracked, the screen or winglets have never been taken off the bike, is anybody else suffering from the same fault.

Did any LockTite get on the screen?

If you used LockTite or a similar thread locking compound on the screen fasteners, you may have gotten some on the plastic. This will immediately cause the cracking you describe.

It is possible to use thread locking compounds, but you have to be extremely careful to keep it off the screen.

I've been upsidedown on mine and still no cracks - quite a few scratches though.

Yeh one of mine has started cracking although the screen has been off and on a couple of times. The cracking started sometime during a long trip - the dead flies hid it for a bit. Also one of the little side screens did the same thing and had to be replaced.
