1200 adventure for the vertically challenged?

Saw yet another one today in Cardiff - a guy riding the Adventure version when at traffic lights he had all on to get the toes of one boot on the tarmac. Why is it that so many short ar5e5 chose the biggest bike and then teeter at a stop? Why not just chose the straight GS 1200?

Is it the same reason you often see little girls on big horses?

I can't get both feet flat but Ive only ever dropped it when the ground sloped more than I expected. I quite happily ride it in full mountains mode where I'm seriously tippy toe. Funnily enough only ever dropped it on normal ride height

Once a GSA (or a GS for that matter) is going down there's no chance of stopping it without injury so I just let it go. Longer legs would help a bit but also more likely to get wedged under the falling bike.
