The 1200 has an exhaust-over. The Remus headers do not have it. In fact the only header that I have seen that does have it, is the Akrapovic.

Does the cross-over make a difference and why is the Akrapovic the only one to have it?

Thanks

Only Akra and Laser ues a balancer pipe on their headers other manufacturers like Remus, Bos and Two Bros do without it and use increased header pipe diameter to let the gas flow more easily.

I'm not an expert but the balancer pipe allows gases to use the "whole" system as the pipe lets gas cross between each header.

As for why I can't say but my guess is it's more expensive to manufacture a system with one. :nenau

my guess is that each manufacturer implements the project as they know best

The balance pipe helps to draw the exhaust gases from the opposite cylinder.
As the right cylinder fires and the gases pass out under pressure a small vaccum is fromed in the balance pipe so as the left cylinder fires its gases are sucked out and vica versa on each exhaust stroke very simple and effective.
I just fitted a kiehan stainless steel front pipe to remove the cat and what a differance its made no fat spot mid rev range and its a really nice piece of workmanship and under £300 worth every penny.
