1200 gs 1200 adventure

I have put a deposit down on a 1200 gs a couple of months back. But since seeing the 1200 gs adventure, I had rang my dealer and asked if I can join the queue. Because really, would I ride the 1200 gs any faster on the twisty b roads. I don't really think so. By seeing this link to 1150 gs on the isle of man:

in the right hands, any of these machines will handle well. And imagine 10 kg lighter and 1200 cc. It will be awesome. Just think the adventure has more to it. Plus me and my daughter are doing a trip round Europe for one month and I think the adventure would be ideal. Its a big decision without even putting my bum on the adventure, but I'm sure it'll be fine. I hope I am making the right decision.

But I just don't understand your logic really. Which part of Eurpore are you planning to go to? Which element of the 'more' that the ADv has appeals the most?

Why can't you say that you just think it looks better for you?

My advice to you is, don`t bother asking anyone else, "am I doing the right thing" just go with your heart, you only live for a short time on this planet. There will be lots of people telling you not to waste your money on the ADV, just get the GS and save the extra £700. B****x, if you can afford it get it, if thats what you want. The ADV comes with alot of extras most people go out and buy anyway and the rack is better, panniers are stronger, screens bigger and depending on where your travelling in Europe, the extra fuel capacity will be a bonus. Finally, IMHO it looks great with the blackrims and forks

Which ever you go for, GS or ADV, there both be great for what you want.

yeah,spy in the camp,think your right ill look like a right hard bar steward on the adventure really though every one talks about this ones faster than this one ect,most riders dont take these bikes to the limits anyway,i recently sold my triumph tiger and most of my friends could not stay on its tail in the twistie stuff,dont think i would ride the 1200gs any faster than the adventure i like to ride quite hard but have my limits,have a family to think of,it does look nice though

When the warrantee runs out on my 1200 Basic
i'll definately be looking at the ADV but if i can't touch the floor,
it'll be another Basic

Don't listen to the whingers who can't see the point of the Adv... if you lke the look of it and have the money... go for it!
