Selling my 1150 adventure and i am thinking of buying 1200 adventure but have read and spoken to a few people that have had problems with new bikes any thoughts on build quality( never had any probs with my 1100 gs)

Hello and welcome

I'm sure if you have a question it can either be answered by the excellent search facility or by posting it on here.

JMO but I think they are a great bike, just about perfect for me and at least in my case, totally reliable:thumb2 but then again i've only done 14,000miles so far so its only just run in really.

did you mention why this was your 3rd one:D :hide

Buy it thery a great bike i did over 12000 miles in 6 months
covering western euope. The only probs i had were i warped the front discs
in portugal. Then i had a fault with the head light bulbs poping
and the battery dieing. The funny thing is i sold it to buy a 650 dakar
which i thought was a good idea but promptly sold after a few months i now own a 1150gs but i carnt wait to get back on a 1200gs adventure.

I though we were talking 1200GSA's:nenau

The only poor 1200GS I had was the first 04 model and that never let me down in 18,000miles in the first year, it was just "full of character" and spent a fair bit of time at SPC's:rolleyes: It was a lemon but a nice lemon IYKWIM, the second one was replaced by BMW after the brakes suffered the same problem that the finished my relationship with the 04 model, it was SPC's/BMW's decision to offer me a replacment and they made me an offer i couldn't (read that as I would have been daft to) refuse, i'd only done 12,000miles in 8 mths and again the bike never let me down. And always got me home.

Having had both the basic and the ADV versions of the 1200, and totalling 44,000miles on them, I feel reasonably confident to offer my opinion on their pros & cons.

Now just fek off and shag a sheep:D

Hey, think how bad the sheep felt:nenau :D

Anyway I did answer Steve's question with my own opinion, anybody thats actually ridden proper miles on both the 12GSA and the Budget 1200 will realise they are totally different bikes to ride, some of us actually form our opinions and get our experiences from riding the bikes not just reading about them:thumb
Anyway how many 1100's & 1150's have you bought and sold in the last three years:nenau

Shep:thumb2
