1200 GS Front bulbs

Howdy.

one of my front bulbs has blown, main beam not full beam, and I wondered if there were any tips for changing bulbs on the GS. I know some bikes have a certain knack. I bought a fancy Philips bulb to replace it and got one for the full beam too, with a view to keeping the full beam standard bulb as a spare. Am i right in thinking both bulbs are H7 12v 55w? That's what I was told by Motorrad and that's what I bought in the local HG.

Any tips greatly received!!

Both bulbs are the same. Its immediately obvious how to do it. Access can be gained by turning the bars one way or the other.

Take note which way the tab is on the bulb when you take the old one out.

Consider changing to HiD though, as the "fancy" bulbs won't last more than a few months and are £15 a pop. You'll actually get a noticable upgrade with one of Les's 50W kits.

The dipped beam on mine seems to last just over 10,000 miles. I now change it proactively every 10,000 miles for peace of mind.
