I'm new to the GS world, I have a 2005 1200gs with spoked wheels.
I'm looking to fit new tyres, I ride a enduro size bike and a mid weight adventure bike. I know tyres are the key.
Looking at
Kenda big block
Michelin anakee wild
Motoz rallyz tractionators

I have experience with the motoz good offroad ,not great in winter on road and noisy.

Could anyone be so kind as to point me in the right direction.
Ideally a spare set of wheels would be great ,but I'm not ready for that.
Cheers Andy.

If you are looking at a 50/50 tyre and not an aggressive one i recommend the Mitas E07. Had these for years on my GS and now on my Himalayan. Excellent all rounder.

I have the e07 standard and + on my xt660z very good on the road wet or dry but terrible on mud and wet grass.

I have just fitted a pair of Kenda big blocks for iceland this year. I wouldn't call them 50/50 more off road biased to me. The front feels a bit vague tbh. But I'm getting used to it. The TKC' 80's were a little better but more off road biased. I'm sure any of them will be ok. I did get a good deal on the Kendas from M+P

My friends son is sponsored by kenda and they appear to look like other tyres. I'm not going to go crazy on the road or carry loads of gear, but I definitely don't want to struggle offroad. My 50/50 heading was a bit wrong sorry.

I did think it was tbh. but i replied anyway, just in case.

as the pattern suggests karoo 3 offer little sideways grip in any mud type terrain. Square type blocks are far better in proper mud really, i cant split karoo t, tkc 80, anakee wild, or e10's, tried em all on my 05 gs. e07 did'nt last for me like peeps say they do. none of em were that bad on the tar.
