HAS ANYONE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THEIR CLUTCH SLIPPING AND BURNING? IT HAPPENED IN THE ALPS FOR TWO DAYS FULLY LOADED BUT YESTERDAY IT HAPPENED AGAIN IN FLAT OLD NORFOLK BMW SAID WOULD LOOK AT IT NO PROBLEM AS ITS UNDER WARRANTY BUT IT WOULD TAKE A WHILE AS THE GEARBOX HAS GOT TO COME[ OUT!I DONT SEE WHY I SHOULD PAY FOR A SINTERED CLUTCH IF THE STANDARD ONE IS NOT UP FOR JOB THIS ALSO HAPPENED TO MY MATES 07 GSA ON THE SAME TRIP/B]

MAKE SURE THE HAND GUARD HAS NOT SLIPPED OUT OF CORRECT ALIGNMENT AND IS STOPPING THE CLUTCH LEVER FROM DISENGAGING FULLY.

P.S. WHY ARE WE BOTH SHOUTING :)

mine did this only cost £650 2 weeks after warranty ran out
now check on start up put fingerss infront of lever and push forward wont happen again as i swung off handle bar end and it wont move f&&&&n thing

Are you sure it is not a leaking gearbox seal that is contaminating the clutch plate?
My 1200GSA had this leak at 22K, was fixed under warranty and they replaced the clutch at the same time. However the clutch was not slipping like yours.

Clutch burnt out on me about 3 weeks ago (R1200ST). 15,000 miles, at least half of which were motorway miles. Warrenty expired but 6 months ago. Has taken 3 weeks for BM to get it in the workshop, and is a 3 day job I'm told, anyway, hoping to get back this weekend. Will be looking at about £750, most of which is the labour.
After a fair amount of time spent talking at the service desk we seem to be in agreement of the low mileage and excessive wear of the clutch. Have offer to contact BMW UK on my behalf to negotiate shared costs. They expect BM to offer some sort of guesture be it £50 or £500.
I have high hopes. I'll let you know how it plays out.

In view of this feedback, is it worth fitting the ceramic clutch that Touratec do?

Why do this? Even Touratech say it's snatchy.

The feedback received is that the gentleman's handguard is displaced.

the handguard had moved the first day i got it but i tightened it up straight away . what about the sintered clutch from wunderlich?

Search is a wonderful thing, was about to post up that my bike slips like a bugger under acceleration esp between 5-6k revs,

just checked the HG, rubbing slightly
