1200 GSA Dimensions

Can anyone help ,I'm crating a 1200 GSA of my friends out to Australia and I would like if possible the outside dimensions of the bike across the engine including framework , the handlebars will be removed so its just so I can size a crate suitable .

BMW Motorrad website states 990mm inc. mirrors

Just been out and measured mine, it's approx 860mm accross the crash bars and approx 2140mm from beak to rack

try scrounging a crate from your local BMW dealer??

That is a sensible piece of advice; Here in France they all come crated up and they are taken out and the crates sent back in the delivery truck. There is probably a technique to getting it all in - the front wheel is removed, the screen and possibly handebars? I would phone your dealer, explain your problem and ask if (at least) you could examine a crate when it arrives and watch them unpack it;

Don't no about else where but here the local Sitsuki dealer has to pay the scrapman to tale them away. must be worth a try.

Be carefull with timber to Austarlia.

You will need to ensure that any timber used complies with ISPM15 and is stamped accordingly(excluding plywood).
