1200 GSA Green 2014 plate STOLEN - Brentford

A letter? :blast

Yeah .. found it in my mailbox.... so i was trying to speak with the building administration and they said that because of the legislation the access underground parking door needs to close slowly ... that is why another car can squeeze through the door.... so as a conclusion it wasnt an inside job ...

sorry to hear that - Bike Trac would be the only option for me if i lived in london.

Yes but they can remove the bike track in seconds....

Also i lost all my years of NCB... now the insurance for another one will be 1000 from 200 per year....

I tried with bike track and it doesnt reduce the insurance price :(

If a bike is stolen / recovered do you still loose a no claims and have a 'black mark' against you? I guess if its recovered you take a view on the damage and whether its worth repairing yourself of going through insurance?

I would guess so as you have to declare it and it will go on the bikes record as it will be on both the DVLA and police record.

The joke is losing your no claims as I recently suffered this fate and I'm being treated like the criminal by the insurers

:(

Only if it's fitted by a muppet.

Sorry to hear about your loss but I'm afraid any bod living in the big apple without a tracker fitted is madness.

.... but some neighbours told me that another R1 went missing a couple of months ago and 2 scooters.... and it seems that the camera was not pointed on my parking spot....
Were the cameras pointing at those bikes when they went missing? Are these fixed camera or do they pan/scan the parking area?

Sorry to hear of yet another theft.

I would suggest looking to a wireless intrusion system such as those from Visonic, using a wireless door/window contact its possible to wire an external input. In the OP's case this would mean he would not be reliant upon the building management as long as the wireless signal is strong enough from the garage location.

The idea would be to mount the contact on a wall or even onto the bike, then use an external wired loop or heavy duty door contact to provide the alarm input, a cable loop could be created by passing the cable through the chain loops. If the chains cut ALARM, if the bikes moved Contact opens ALARM. Vibration and PIR detectors are also available, I would consider ceiling mounting a detector over the bike park position also for early indications and possibly have it trigger a local sounder.

Wireless Sounders, bell boxes and signalling is available as well as wireless keypads for setting/insetting.

Wireless distances on the Visonic is phenomenal (2K in free air) and is now the product of choice for many alarm installations.

It's not going to nececerally stop theft but certainly it can deter and provide early notification, in this case it may have made other tenants aware, if there is any onsite building management then they could be directly notified to investigate.

Ideally you want to have the system installed by a certified installer and signalling to a remote monitoring station, that way the police can be automatically called.

As some may have guessed I work In the industry and have wireless installed all over the house, garage, Shed, Greenhouse, being wireless it's too simple not to use it.

Battery life on detectors can be 6 to 8 years and are fully monitored, so no worries on that count.

These are Pro Systems and not the BnQ specials, you get what you pay for.

If I were the OP I would fit a dummy camera at the very least, plenty of cheap cameras on eBay to look at the parking position.

Also consider checking out any other camera systems in the neighbourhood, you may get lucky, just a shame the police don't have the time......

I think the op had phenomenon ally good security. Fuck if they want it...they will take it. Has to be an inside job

Makes no difference, even if you had protected NCB. They just put up your base premium to whatever they want.
