The GSA, a bike to ride around the world on? I think not.

Expensive toy more like.

(Besides don't think i could afford one)

If you were BMW which market would you aim for;

3 blokes with beards, a mad German called Heinz and a tv crew in waiting

or

several dozen thousand buyers worldwide who like the image and the looks and the manliness and the road biased touring slant of it all?

I'm in the latter camp btw :ymca

Heinz was swiss!

Dissenters are so much more perceptive than anyone else. :rolleyes: From pictures alone they can rule a bike out as not an improvement on previous models, or even capable of going down the block, let alone RTW, before it's even turned a wheel by any owner; and somehow they realize, before anyone else can, what a collosal mistake a company has made in designing and developing a model based on the sales success of the last two years. :tosser

I take it you've ordered yours? :mmmm

Nope, and no plans to either. I've got 2 years left on my warranty and, with the mieleage I've racked up, the hit I'd take on mine would effectively give me 1/2 it's original value. Way too much of a hit IMO.

As I've said elsewhere, I'll take the tank, or the TT option, or the Aqualines, whichever I feel is the more viable option and install it on mine. That's about all I wanted on mine. I go camping in northern Ontario and Quebec where gas stops can be a stretch on the stock tanks range. Otherwise I can't see too much difference to warrant the hit I'd take on trade in.

so your point was? :eek

Did I suggest BMW had made a collosal mistake? No, they have created a desire for many that didn't exist before, to my mind a huge marketing succes. And thats all. Y'prick :dabone

Don't know why you feel the need to insult me just because I have a differing POV. But my point is that, yes you are saying it's a big mistake. BMW has designed this bike to follow in the footsteps of their last RTW bike, the 1150 ADV, and in your opinion you don't see it as a viable RTW bike. Fair enough but if that is true then it is a collosal failure on BMWs part. You put out an opinion, I put out mine, lighten up or don't post if you can't take opinions that don't match yours.

Didn't realise the canadians had the same irony bypass as the americans :D :D

I got it but I thought you Brits were suppose to be masters of sarcasm :rolleyes: If you were going for irony you should have gone down the 12GSA supermoto route that some of you guys did way back when with the 12GS. Besides I didn't see the 'irony' in calling me a prick... :tosser
