I have a 2018 model and am thinking of changing to the 1250.

I didn’t add anything to my 1200, and want to know was it a standard build, so what is it’s 1250 equivalent?

Mine has the LED additional lights, the SOS and the crash bars and bars that are higher up. It has a bash plate underneath.

I’ve looked at the 1250 models and some show pictures with and without the bars etc.

Don’t want a factory order as the current deal says has to be stock.

Hi Wobble, I'm starting to look at a Rallye or TE of some variant in the 1250, what offer are you referring to, the enhanced trade in?

Looking at the regular rather than adventure, and that is a minefield, they don't make it easy to compare spec between variants chopping and changing their descriptions.

Good luck with your quest.

Be quick... My understanding is that there are only a couple of eligible bikes left available in the UK.

To be honest, it was just a conversation with the dealer as mine is going in for some warranty work, I joked it might be easier for me to get e new bike as opposed to dropping mine off, riding the two and half hours back and then repeat again when bike ready.

Really busy at work so can only go at weekends.

Quite happy with mine at the mo

Reading that it appears that the dealer can using their discretion value your bike at anything they like, so it seems to be that they will undervalue you trade in by £1000 and then allow you an extra £1000 trade in value against a current stock new bike and thus the staus quo is maintained

It depends on whether you are looking at the GS or the GSA? I’d argue that the only difference between you 1200 Rallye and the 1250 GSA in terms of spec is the engine.. If you’re looking at the GS it won’t have any crash bars or spotlights. It’s also only suited for the Vario luggage so if you have the Adventure Ally boxes you’ll need to fork out another ££700-£800 on all the hardware to fit it (racks for side cases, rear rack for top box and rear footpeg hangers). I know this because it’s exactly what I did a year ago... Kinda wish I hadn’t as I recently chopped the 1250 GS in for a 2018 1200 GSA...

I didn't find that to be the case. The £1k is split between BMW and the dealer (they contribute £500 each). Anyhow, the trade in value I was given was significantly better than that.

They are clearing stock (successfully!) as BMW have stopped making the current model. New, euro 5 compliant, bikes will be released soon.

Edit... Replying to Neil W!

It’s a matter of finding the closest spec bike to my current one, and still a GSA. I had RTs before this one and it’s a good match to my ideal bike, so didn’t want another bike that then required me to add more stuff.

Any idea on a date for the new bikes?

I traded an 18 plate 1200 GSA Rallye TE for a 69 plate 1250 GSA Rallye TE before they added trackers as standard

There are only 2 major differences (that I am aware of) between my previous 1200 and my present 1250.....engine and colour

IMHO the 1200 has the better colour scheme but the 1250 has a better engine

Mike

I had the wheels and hand guards changes from 'normal' spec as part of the deal

Hit the nail on the head there Mike, and i agree the black wheels and hand guards are much more suited to the 1250 Rallye... Did the same when i bought mine.

Will be released as the 2021 model... So October/November?

I also like the black wheels on the HP-GSA...looks less AfricaTwin...more serious...like a real man's bike...:D
