hiya all, looking at buying a headlight protector for me 2013 RT, just wondering which ones people are using???, I can see one on ebay for about £25, and another one(cee baileys) for about £72:eek:, now to me the 25 quid one looks the same, but is it???:nenau, so like I say, whats peoples oppinions??

cheers, Andy:thumby:

I'd rather see where I am going than put something stupid like that on my 1200rt. Then again, the bike is 2005, and maybe I don't have it long enough to have had a damaged headlight.

I reckon the £25 eBay is just as good as owt else. I bought one for my K1300S as although I've never had a headlight get damaged in 40 odd years of riding I was concerned at the amount of deep stone chips it had after just a few thousand miles. It looked crap of course, but I could see through it and so could the headlight beam...lol I reckon Myke thinks these things are solid and not transparent.
Not sure whether I'll bother with one on the RT but at the end of the day its personal choice of course

Got a Nippy Norman one on mine, same sort of price £25-30 i think. The first one had to go back as it wouldn't line up properly corner to corner. Incidentally the service from NN was spot on, changed with no quibble and very quick delivery.
My only concern with it is the fixing system- a sort of glorified velcro type stuff, hard plastic bobbles that interlock with each other, a bit like kids sticklebricks in miniature. They don't appear to be secure but having said that it hasn't fallen off in 7000 miles or the odd high speed blast! The flipside is that it is dead easy to take off and clean/chamois the headlight after washing the bike.
Hope this helps.

That's sounds like exactly the same Velcro stuff I had on the 1300S headlight cover, like you I was amazed it held the cover on even at 150+mph at the TT but it did. Bloody amazing stuff

I've got a velcro-attatched 1200RT headlight protector, I dont give it a second thought and it stays on securely regardless. While on the subject of perspex, does anyone have a recommendation for something to clean and polish the fairing screen? So far I've only used water and avoided getting any sort of detergent or polish on it. Does anyone have a good technique for cleaning the lower "back" of the screen without taking it off the bike? I thank you
