1200GS 04 Servosectomy advice please

My back is a 2009 and doesnt have the electric servo but does have ABS..
I have to admit they are EXTREMELY grabby at low speed and they seem to surge...
At say 20 mph or above they feel fine.
Coming to a standstill they are a pain in the ass.
I have a 2009 with ABS. Mine's not grabby at all.
Suggest you try some different pads.

Such as??

My bike had done 12,500 miles when I bought it so i am assuming they would not be the originals ??
I doubt the discs are warped as it would not go away when travelling over 20mph..

Clean all caliper pistons. If any are sticking consider rebuilding both caliper. Done before its seized you should be able to re use the seals.
In terms of pads I've found HH do a good job.

Don't use the rear brake pedal. The linked system puts more than enough load onto the rear brake.

Help! I went and bought some security torx bits yesterday but they don't fit the fasteners on the servo to remove the electronic section. The screws seem to be a special 5 starred security screw (torx are 6 star).

Those of you that have done this, how did you remove these screws to get the electronic bit off the servo??

I thought about leaving the servo in place but if I do that the thing still runs when the brakes are applied and squirts brake fluid out.

Thanks
Mark

Hammer the six-pointed torx bit into the top of the screw. The screw is fairly soft so it will go in easily. They're not too tight, so it will come off without ringing the heads.

When I did mine, I just hammered an old flat screwdriver into those screws. They aren't very tight.
