1200GS Adventure - recovering low seat

Hello mate

I`m just getting mine done in Exeter this week. When I showed the trimmer the original and low seat, he said the easiest way was just to stitch and welt matching red side panels. He has got the correct smooth red vinyl so should get a factory finish.

I`ll post a pic when I collect it next week.

regards

Mark

Chris can we have some better photos of the seat please.....was the red trim simply fixed over the original seat covers or the seats recovered from scratch? Thanks

Pitty 'too loud man' hasn't responded (even though I Pm'd him :( ) as Exeter isn't so far for me and it would have been good to see the work done on his seats for comparison.

HI chris, I hope you dont mind me using your photo as I saved it before I got my ADV to get a idea of what the 12 low seat could look like, I think its great !!.
I have got the black low seat and would still like it to look like yours.

No problem

I also got some more comfort foam added at the same time as standard low seat is a bit of a plank !!!!

he also graded the back of the seat so not as much as a lip

top job

Chris

I've just changed to a low seat for my GSA and I'd like to do something similar to Chris 567's. Question is, does anybody know of / recommend an upholsterer near to my neck of the woods (Southampton / Bournemouth) area? I'd prefer to get it done locally if poss rather than have to post it off somewhere, so that I could actually discuss my requirements face to face.
Cheers, Tony

Sorry for not getting back to this post, been snowed under with work.

Anyway, the material the trimmers had turned out to be a different texture and would not have looked good. More of a grainy leather, but a close colour match. I am waiting for them to get back to me when they have spoken with a rep to see if they can get the right match.

I`ll post as soon as I have progress.

Well got both mine back from Trim 'll Fix in Exeter £117.50 for the pair :thumb2 and must say they are looking pretty good, did a 335 mile round trip to CW's saturday and they did the business :thumb the only problem is the pillion seat doesn't have enough of a hump in it but that just being picky.

The picture doesn't really do it justice.

Oh also I am 5'7"inside leg roughly 29 1/2" and can put left foot completely on the ground whilst right on the peg or the balls of the feet plus with both feet down which is great.
