1200Gs: How long did yours take to arrive

Ordered a standard 1200GS 2 weeks ago but haven't
really got a delivery date. Just wondering how long
'yours' too to arrive once you placed an order.

1st one took 5 months......
2nd one....1 week......
3rd one......1 month
4th one 4 days......

Don't worry, I've read your posts while searching for 'Nordkapp'.
I'm off up there this July. Hope I don't have the same woes....

I'm hoping to take delivery in April-ish....should be feasable.
Will be interested in your huggers when they're available.

Why are you waiting for a bike? Is that a Northern thing?

Down south there are dealers with brand new ones ready to go in their showrooms

The one I am thinking of has 4 sitting there.

Your dealer can request a bike from another dealer if he can't get one quickly enough...

ordered mine two weeks ago, it's being built week 9, which starts this Monday, and the dealer reckons I'll have it by wednesday, thursday ish. Although it definately depends what extras you have, as the wire wheels were the reason I didn't get a bike straight away, and IMO GS's don't look right with cast wheels.

OK....cheers for all that. I'm in no real hurry and
the weather's still crappy. I've still got my 'S' but
don't want to risk taking it out before it's part-ex'd
for the gs. Thanks for the replies.....

I don't know where you are buying your 'bike from, but I see that you live in North Yorks'. I was in Jefferies a couple of weeks ago, and they must have had half a dozen 1200s sat on the showroom floor. I think only one had a "sold" sticker on it.

I had my Gentleman's gentleman pop into BMW's show room in Park Lane, London on a Tuesday.

New 1200GS delivered to my door on the Friday.

It's ordered from Barrie Robson in York. It's probably cos
I've ordered with no ABS and no heated grips. Very few
without heated grips so I guess it may take a little longer
to arrive. Like I say, I'm not really bothered, as long as
I get it before June so I can rack up the first 1000 before
I go over to Norway.

Where bout's are you jonnie....I'm living in K/boro.
