:popcorn :clap :D

i was thinking about buying a Goldwing......about 3 years ago, until i watched a few them drive bye ............if these guys could have drove slower then i'm sure they would have, well below the speed limit at around 25 mph with Meat loaf playing ...in a 60 limit ... :nenau

seen this a few times.. NOT for me....................doing the speed limit is fine by the way doing 25 on a open road is boring :nono

Exactly! There have been many a sport bike rider that I've given a lesson in the twisties when on my LT, it really surprises them. The LT can really hold it's own for such a big load, you really forget how heavy it is - until you come to a stop.

Yes, I did 30k on my 04 LT SE before I part exchanged it for the 12GSA. Very good handling machine and quite a bit quicker than an 1150GSA (eh Blowzorn? ;-)

Plus if you keep it riding (>50mph) you don't get wet in the rain and the heated seat and back rest are excellent. Oh, and the electric screen and the CD player, and the radio and the cruise control...

I've never ridden a Wing but I don't understand why they make a mega-tourer that has to stop every 60-90 minutes for fuel. The LT will do 250 miles between fill ups. It was more economical that my 12GSA but 'only' holds 24 or 25 litres which was one of my primary drivers for changing.

Bought mine 3 weeks ago, new. Quite fancied a change after 24 years on Gold Wings, bearing in mind that I had also owned the 1150A,I believed that the 12 was a big improvment over the 1150. Big mistake! After dark the lights are nothing more than a piss-poor excuse for lights,I've seen brighter lights on bicycles! The less said about the seat, the better,100 miles max before numb ass sets in!
Are BMW really not capable of making comfortable seats and lights that actually illuminate the road,or,do they really not care a f---, because there are plenty of suckers out there, all too ready to part with their cash?
I did not, for one minute, expect Gold Wing standards from BMW,but,If I wanted to sit on a scaffold plank with a torch at the front, I could have saved myself a truck load of money and do that in my garage!
So, the bike has been sold, and, I collect the new Gold Wing on Saturday!
The GS12 is a fairly good prototype, but, as a "finished article"it falls way short of a good motorcycle, Overated,Overpriced, may be OK when its finished!!

And with motolights, Piaa H7 light bulbs and a Sargent seat it becomes the best bike on the planet! After a long trip with fully loaded luggage I simply remove the bags and I've got a 500lb motorcycle to go out dancing thru the nearest canyon on. Try that on an 800lb bike.

GL1800 Great bike did 24,000 miles in 18 months, handled, stopped and went round corners and was no way a borring bike you should hear the flat six howl !

We all know its not the bike that is slow or boring its invariably the rider !
