Anyone tried fitting standard 1200 front and rear shocks onto a standard 1150?Is there much to be done?
It's just an option before splashing out full whack on a new set.
I should have never sold my Ohlins :blast

Yes you should! Clarence rebuilt them for me and they're lovely.:thumb It'd make the bike too tall for your little legs anyway.:D

No the rear on the 1200 is much too long, no sure about the front...

Glad you enjoying them mate..............NOT:P
They were not that tall when I had them on,still manageable.Anyway, mate of mine is offering a set from a 1200,maybe a bit of grinding etc would make it fit

Brian the front one is only 2mm longer and the mounting looks very similar, but according to the OHLINS website the rear is 20mm longer and the bottom shackle is wider it might be a different diameter as well?

Shocks

Dont forget the 1150 is heavier than the 1200

The front Wilbers for both my 1150 and 1200 were supplied with identical springs, and are interchangeable between bikes.
I have had the front spring for the 1200 changed for a softer item as I reckoned it was far too firm ; personal choice, of course,

The 1200 shocks definately won`t fit an 1100 so I`m guessing the 1150 will be the same.

I`ve got Hyperpro springs on my 1200ADV and full shocks on my 1100 and they are superb.

You shouldn`t need complete shocks unless they are fecked so the spring alternative is veru cost effective and a great improvement on stock!
