Hurry up ....the nights are drawing in you know!!!! :D
Prototype should be up-and-running this week. (2nd revision to the original - this one will be optionally switchable).

Will let you know of progress, chaps - shouldn't be long now.

Hi,

I will be receiving my light bar and lights hopefully this week. Before I go ahead and create my own wiring could you provide some details about your loom.

I have ordered hela fogs and ff50 will your loom be suitable for these. I want fogs on with dip and ff50 with full beam. Not really interested in adding any switches (maybe autoswitch though).

How does it connect?
Price?

Thanks

Ian

Go for it

Yep. Light and loom bundle. Take the intiative, get the pricing right and don't look back. Plenty of other 'wiring' options to explore I would suggest.

..The idea is to make the loom suitable for the most common fitment; i.e. MiGSel light bar + 4 Hella lamps (either FF50/75 or MicroDE)...

That's the way mine is currently wired - the simple solution. The Autoswitch for the 1200 is a bit 'awkward', I've heard, needing you to hold the high-beam flash button for several seconds. Not what you want in heavy traffic. I would be glad if someone could correct me on this, however.

All plug and play, no splicing or alterations to the original wiring.

Hmm...will let everyone know as soon as the various invoices for bits are collated.

You're very welcome.

Im off from work next week and was hoping to fit my lights during the week. What are the chances the loom will be ready by then?
Do you have an approximate price? (I only require the loom no lights etc)

Thanks

Ian

They are still trying to figure out how the seat comes off...... :D
Didn't realise that the seat comes off! That would make the job easier......hmmm....back to the drawing board. :)

Seriously, though, it looks likely that the cost of the loom ready-to-fit is going to be £65 + postage (including UKGSer discount, before you ask!).

Please also be aware that the relays sit in the tool-tray (in their own little box) so this space has to be available and not already filled with Autocoms etc.

Production should be starting early next week if the remaining bits arrive - some of the connectors are proving slightly difficult to source.

The price we have for the lights is not competitive with the supplier already detailed by BTBR, but we are looking into this because so many of you want the complete kit. Hella will not give us a direct account and their UK distributor is ..errr... not terribly helpful.

Watch this space!

Sounds good, let us know when ylu get underway :thumb

Can you confirm exactly what the loom will be wired for? In your first post you mentioned 4 lamps but not how these would operate.

i.e. one set on dip, one (or both) on main or all on all the time. Operated by seperate switch etc. etc.

or will there be various options?

Personally I quite like the first option this will allow fog lights with dip and long range lights with main.

Cheers
Ralph

Yeah - two lamps (Fogs) are triggered by the dip beam, t'other two (Spots or Driving lights) come on with main beam. This means that when you have main beam on, you have 6 x 55w lights at your disposal. Believe me, it's like having your own personal sun. The setup gives better lights than my car has.

I have just collected my lights from BBTR and having seen his loom for the 1150 Im interested in yours for my 1200. Can you just tell me how and where it connects to the low/high beam lights for the relay coils. I would like to make this connection inside the GS light unit does your loom allow this?

Thanks

Ian

:nono Patience is a virtue Ian, and far be it from me to pass comment, but if you would care to read on the forum somewhere I think you will read that Little Red Rooster suffered a heart attack last week. :(

Save you searching look here

One would concur from that, that the making of the loom could be delayed, unless of course they allow him to use a soldering iron and crimpling pliers on the ward.

Based on the above little nugget of information, one would suspect that your loom and anyone else's for that matter are the last thing on his mind right now.
