hi

I am looking for a 1200GS tank bag and came across the above which it is stated is "specailly developed for 1200GS and KTM tanks". At £49.99 seems good value - [URL="http://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/motorcycle-luggage/motorcycle-soft-luggage-textile/tank-bag-magnetic/tuareg-spezial.html"[/URL]

Does anyone have any experience of these?

Thanks.

It's a magnetic tankbag. The 1200 has a plastic tank. Whoever wrote the copy doesn't know enough about the product and its intended applications. It won't work.

:blast Thanks for pointing this out which is porbably why I could find nothing about it on the Forums:augie

Well, a geniune BMW tank bag offers a better fit and is totally waterproof however expensive it may be. You could either try your luck on ebay as it is one of most sought after BMW items. If you do decide to buy a new one, don't worry but you can always sell it later after use to somebody else on ebay or here and get more than half of the money back! I had no trouble selling my old K100RS inner bags, tank bag, GS tank bag at good prices etc before!

You're most welcome...:comfort The irony is that the previous generation of HG Tuareg tankbag, ie the strap-on one which came with zip-on tank pannier bags fits perfectly on both pre and post '08 GSes. It's pretty much a simplified version of the Famsa bag and I suspect was made in the same factory. If I were needing a new bag, I'd buy a Famsa one.

I also looked at the HG tank bag thinking it was a bargain , went for the BMW one in the end. Having just road 2000 miles with it more than happy , waterproof I ended up putting my tomtom from the car in the map pocket kept it dry :clap

I bought the large one and we needed it , filled the two panniers with camping equipment , with only the top-box and tankbag for everything else think I paid around £145
