1200GS will not accelerate when throttle opened

Hi Guys,
My 18 month old 1200GS has just started an intermittent fault after 8000 miles.
Open the throttle to accelerate and the bike just keeps the same speed. Open and close the throttle a couple of times and it seems to clear and run normally. Also happens without any load on the engine. Have asked the dealer who has no idea and has suggested bad fuel. I would appreciate any suggestions or help. Has anyone else has experienced this problem?

Check the hand guard...

.....isn't stopping the clutch lever from fully extending.

As well as the clutch/handguard, have you checked to see if the throttle cables are snagging/not seated properly?? Have you checked their operation when bike is on its stand? - apart from that, I can't think of anything else mechanical..

Bike went into Wollaston Friday. They put it on the computer and changed the thingy that controls the fuel pump. Everything seems OK now.

Ah! - it's good that it was the 'thingy' ! - (hope it is all ok now)
