Hi all

Been planning to flush my brakes and noticed that my rear caliper pistons seen better days. Got bits missing on them.

Got a spare rear caliper in much better condition so want to swap them.

After much research understood that my abs is less hassle to flush. Like any normal brake system, no fancy funnels required.

But to change rear caliper i would have to drain rear system. From reading everything to fill system back its a dealer job as they have special pump.

Is that the case or its posible to get it done myself?

Ps this will be my first brake flush. So still virgin

Thanks

re caliper, clean pistons up with soapy water and post a couple of pics of the damage if you have a chance. It's hard to know if they need to be replaced without seeing them

you don't have to drain the system. to remove rear caliper get a bungee and elevate the caliper banjo bolt (not under tension) after removal and use another bungee or somehting else to depress rear brake pedal. once pedal is depressed no more fluid enters system, and with banjo elevated the fluid won't run out. Then when you refit there will only be a small amount of air to bleed. Obviously bleed the system with new fluid after working on the caliper
