1200GSA - engine bars... is this right??

Just inspecting my new (ex-demo) GSA and noticed that the engine bars are not symetrical... on the LHS they very nearly (but not quite) touch the cylinder head protector, but on the RHS there's a significant gap.

Doesn't seem like a big deal, but I'm just curious to know whether they're all like that? It doesn't look bent, but I wonder whether I should get it looked into & re-aligned?

I suppose it's too much to ask for SERIOUS REPLIES ONLY?

The pistons are off-set where they connect to the crank, therefore one cylinder is further forward than the other.

Found that out today putting Remus Headers on my new GSA !! Couldn't easily get to the nearside upper Manifold Nut as the engine bars are so close!!!Then it looked like it wouldn't fit though I'd been assured it would...................................but it did!!So Remus +Akro pipe and it sounds like a Bike now!!Took a while for the EFI to adjust but after 50 miles its fine !!

Haha.. thanks guys, it's SO obvious once you know! Schoolboy error.

I has the 1200GS for 3 1/2 years and never noticed the cylinders weren't in line!

same here, but mine is more noticable around the tank, I've not really looked around the pots, but I do know they aren't symetrical having pulled my old shortblock apart.
