I've trawled the threads on here and AdvRider but wondered if anyone had recently purchased the Metal Mule "Balanced" system (ie new pipe and panniers). It looks fantastic and considering it as an option vs the OEM GSA panniers.

It's pricey for the full racks, anodised+rubber feet+annodised panniers, pipe c £1300 vs c £1000 for the OEM GSA racks, panniers and bags.

Any thoughts? Who bought a bike from Vines and had them fitted?

If you can, get them to fit them for you... for free of course. That way, any fitting problems can be tackled at source instead of sending items backwards and forwards through the post before finally resorting to a lump hammer and acetylene torch. Once they're on properly and with no finish problems, they great. Tried them on a GS. Now got a GSA and have opted for OEM luggage.

Hiya,

My new GSA is presently sitting at Vines waiting for me; I have been deliberating on the Panniers.

The OEM GSA ones have been quoted at £1170 plus whatever the internal bags are gonna cost.

Am now looking at Caja Sahels and the Metal Mules......thanks for those pics by the way just what I wanted to see the frame mounts and boxes close up and it looks like the MM's are ahead by a nose - re anodizing finish and quick fitment!

Mules btw complete as you have them around £870 without the exhaust!
