I've just got a new set of BMW Adventure panniers, which have the locks fitted, but the 2 keys supplied are different to my ignition key.
Is it possible for me to "re-key" the locks to my existing ignition key, or do I have to go back to the dealer to have it done?
If I can do it myself... a short explanation would be helpful :o

Cheers,

yes you can...I didn't do mine but all three of mine are keyed the same so only the bikes key is needed...BMW did mine for me...
I seem to recall a thread where someone was asking for the different levers from the locks to make the lock up IYSWIM ???

HTH;)

Its around £20 to get it done by a dealer. The link below is a pictorial guide for re-keying vario lock barrels. The principle is the same, but you might find that you don't have enough of the right tumblers to match your ignition key.

I didn't bother re-coding mine to save wear on the ignition key - I don't want to give my new ring antenna any excuse to play silly buggers....
