Im new, so please be gentle. I know loads of people have converted gs to gsa tank, but has anyone ever went the other way, ie converted their gsa to a smaller tank. I have just bought a 09 1200gsa, and im overwhelmed by the sheer size of the tank, its gonna take a while for me to get used to it. I love the bike, its amazing. Just finding the huge tank a little wierd.

Cheers
Stu.

It's a big tank but you don't have to fill it to the brim every time you want fuel if it's the weight that bothers you, the tank also offers the rider a lot of protection from the elements, in answer to your question....I don't know of anyone who has done the conversion you're suggesting oh and welcome to the site :thumb2

It is a bit daunting fully fueled....but I'd stick with it, you'll get used to it. :thumb2

"Just finding the huge tank a little wierd" The whole bike is a little wierd!!! Different sized headlights, that front suspension set up, single side rear end....thats why we love em!
I too have just graduated to the Dark Side (from a standard GS) the first time i filled it up was a shock (financial too!) Just put £20 per time and gets you about 200 miles which is plenty. The tank gives great protection from wind and rain. Stick with it. you'll love it!!! :beerjug:
