Having sold my original GS BMW alloy panniers and topbox for a Touratech Zega Pro 'limited edition' pannierset aswell as a Zega Pro+Black 38 litre topbox with 'rapid trap' i've been looking closely at this topbox mounting system.

Unlike the BMW/Touratech system which is held on with robust stainless 'tabs' and a very secure rear clasp the Touratech Zega Pro topbox is held on with two forward facing plastic 'tabs' and a cable operated rear clamp whose main function is a quick release system!

I'm just wondering how secure this system is and is anyone else using one and what are their experiences?

Thanks FP.:thumb

My top box has been on my GS since new (May 2010) and done three trips to Europe with no problem. The only time I've taken it off the bike is to clean it up after each European trip.

Good to know..........!:thumb

I ride a few 'rough' roads and with the 38 litre box being a bit bigger than the 32 litre one it replaces i just want to make sure it's secure enough!:thumb2

The other thing with the bigger topbox is that i won't need my panniers so much on the ALDI Tesco's run!
