1200GSA

I'm not having a go either. It's just that, whilst the 12 certainly has had, and has, some issues, there are a number of random postings on this site which seems to knock it for random and nonsense issues. Plasticky being one of them.

I think that leggers is probably spot on. Regardless of model of GS you choose, it's a great bike. Each model has issues, but in general each is a fantastic bike.

There seem to be some on here who take pleasure in knocking the 12 (in either GS or, now, GSA guise) for the sake of it, regardless of support/justification. And I just chose now to say "hang on, that's just not right, let's take a cold hard look at what you're saying".

As I said earlier, I'm not partisan to either (and indeed your kind help some time ago via pm related to me hunting down an 1150GSA SE in Germany). It's just that some users of this site need to think before they type, or be prepared to have there comments rightfully challenged.

Safe riding on that fine looking 1150 of yours (the best looking 1150 in my books) :thumb

Well said that man. :thumb :beerjug:

I was expecting replies like '1200 for me' 1150 for me :thumb '
I've not been overly concerned with "looks" - I use my bike all year round for a variety of purposes - 33,000 miles since Aug 04 - so I go for usability. I'm sure the 1150Adv is just as practical, the couple I've ridden on just didn't "fit" me and I didn't feel comfortable the way I do on the 1200.

OK - 1200 for me then :thumb ;)

Which paticular bit??????????? :nenau

Macca, I was applauding your friendly common sense reply. Its a shame people feel the need to slag/take the p++s of other peoples choice of bike. We all share a common interest on this forum which ever GS model we choose to ride. Go and enjoy which ever model you have, you choose it because its the one you like. :thumb :D :beerjug:

Well said that man :D Threads are like text messages when it comes to try and think what frame of mind the person is when they are writing.

I been in the Sh## loads with the missus( :bow ) because she thinks i am taking the Pi## or in a mood with her :D She is not reading the message.

So we can end this with shedracers words (Go and enjoy which ever model you have, you choose it because its the one you like. :thumb :D )

Nice One :thumb :D :D

The 1200 Adventure

Somewhere in this thread there was a criticism of the luggage attachment. As soon as I saw the new model in the showroom I said 'here is a bike, at last, that you can drop and pick up without major damage;' The BMW Aluminium boxes looked very solid and were very well attached, even a strut across the back of the bike connecting the two sides. The attachment points were well spread out as well.
I would not buy one because I have no intetntion of venturing into the sort of territory where it would be in its element......and I would consider myself even more of a 'poseur' than at present, with my standard 1200GS - which I am too timid to ride off road - even though I did trials many years ago.
If I was a few years (well, a lot of years) younger this is the bike I would buy and off I would go - one end of Australia to the other .........and back!
That is what this bike is for.
