I may be alone here, but I've been getting fed up with having the take the bike apart every time I want to properly clean the clear plastic lower venturi screen which sits between the headlight and the main screen.

I noted on the R1250GS(A) this part along with the little side fairings have been redesigned into a single (all black) part.

So a trip to Bahnstormers, & just £35 later, the 1250 part is now fitted to my 1200GSA.:) No more perma-dirty screen. Also note that the aero slots in the side fairings are now much bigger so maybe BMW have done some work improving airflow/aero. :nenau As far as I can tell this is the only part of the bodywork thats actually been changed on the 1250. Presumable they didn't just change it for the hell of it!?

For anyone interested, the Part number is: 46 63 8 556 639

Boshman for some reason I can’t see what I presume are 4 photos attached to your post? Any chance you could PM them? Going to Bahnstormer tomorrow - May order some for the same reasons you did but would like to see first.
Thanks in advance

Phill

Some people have sprayed the fly screen black, I put a Touratech one on with a little peak on it

I sprayed mine black.
Just give a good rub over with green scrubber to give the paint something to grip too, then paint with a satin spray paint suitable for plastics.

as @win, it was redesigned for the 2017.5 1200 model. The also tweaked the front beak design, which was also taken over the 1250. Below at 4.40

There are no exterior changes on the 1250, beyond colours (and of course the Hayes brake).

My 2018 GSA (build date July 2018) is the same design as my old 2016 GS. Three pieces, with the centre bit clear Perspex.

I just sprayed plastikote on the plastics to protect the surface.

Same with mine. I guess I just never noticed they changed it on the standard 1200GS when they did the 2017.5 styling tweeks on it.

That lower clear plastic screen also suffers from plastic fatigue around the mounting holes.

An this is the touratech one for the 1200 lc
