Could it be something to do with the fact it has an entirely different engine

I have little interest in the XR so haven’t followed its development but seeing as I thought it’s based on the S1000RR which now has shift cam I thought it would be a logical step to fit the motor in the XR. Perhaps you could explain why it doesn’t have the new shift cam motor from the RR, Del ?

No word of it having shiftcam, maybe it has. My oldest lad has just bought an XR SE Jobby, i really should go and have a look at it

It’s a bit confusing, as they’ve said it has the new engine from the RR, but not shiftcam. Seems strange.

No complaints from me, but they have said it’ll have more torque, which is great news. I’m looking forward to an extended test ride.

But the latest RR has a stunning motor with that shift cam. Seems strange to leave it out .

I thought it lacked mid-range power which the shift cam would improve

They’re claiming it’ll have a lot more torque, so we’ll see.
