My R supposedly left the factory on 29th.
Assuming that's true , I'll be taking it away in three weeks time to France and beyond.I've preliminarily booked it's first service to be done in Boulogne so I can keep going .
In the meantime I'll just have to make do with the Guzzi and having to endure the Route Napoleon etc

I nearly had a brainstorm late last year and went and tried one of those although it was the new 923 ( or whatever )
They are an absolute hoot
So light such brilliant handling
But as I only ever ever have one bike i saw the sense of "i could not reasonably tour on it" so Kept the XR
What a great bike for a summers eve or sunday thrash though

Test road a 1290 S today. What a fantastic bike - the engine is sublime. Did find a false neutral between 5 & 6 whilst doing a high speed overtake .
Damping modes very noticeably different and sport drive mode was instantaneous.
However, it is not possible to fit the toolkit under the seat because of a massive plastic container that might be to do with emissions. Can anyone confirm this? Ridiculous location - am sure that it could have been shaped to fit under near the taillight area.

I get 'each to their own' and I get 'buy what you want, not what you think others find cool'
Guzzi's aren't my thing at all but I do understand why 'some' like them. In the interest of fair balance, Ducatis aren't my thing either.
