1290 super adventure pic!

Clearly the hair on your bollocks as you don't have any on your head .....

I paid full price for my kTm plastic panniers, and could have gotten a set of nolan panniers and a wings exhaust for the same price. The top box leaks and locking it is fiddly. A givi top box is far better, imho. If you got the panniers for free, then they are worth it but I would not pay for them.

Yes yes .... I shall be going on Cato .... :)

(Unless it's shite weather - if that's the case I'm staying in bed .... )

I have staff for that sort of thing ....

Just been into P&H Gatwick, they have a good deal on the 1190 £12700 for a 14 model but includes all the panniers ect. Had the R and the normal one in stock. Also told me that KTM had put the 1290 back till sometime in April until it hits the shops. Not sure what to do now. Go with the 1190 deal and save a fair few grand or wait for the 1290 and spend about 4-5 k more once boxes added ect.

Also don't think much of the sails an in there. More intersted in his chips than speaking to a new customer. I tried to engage but it wasn't easy.

I was in The Rocket Centre at Blackburn on Sunday and they had two 1290s one demo and one they'd already sold.

I've just bought one of the '14 models from P&H as the deal seemed too good to miss (Particularly as I've just written by GS off and needed a replacement).

Very minimal if any difference from the 15 model bar some minor graphics changes, it's coming on a 15 plate and cost £12700 rather than £15800... No brainer.

I do know what you mean about the salespeople in there though. The guy dealing with me this time, Mike, has been very helpful but my experience previously has been mixed.

Just had a 1290 SA from Jim Aim's in Essex. Had other stuff from them before. I think they are a very helpful, experienced dealer and can't do enough for you. (The bike is bloody good too!) Well worth a look if you don't mind the treck.
Cheers!

Popped into redline ktm today and was offered a blast on there demo, it looks really nice and the quality is superb, not sure about the Corning lights ! I wonder if they can be made to both come on together like spots instead !!

Looking forward to taking it out nxt week, but £16k i was offered a deal for cash tho.

Engine looks bland, same as the triumph all black, the GSA engine is much better with bright bits.
The GSA SS engine bars are way up on the black jobbies on the KTM.
Not a pretty bike overall.

Are you really comparing engines based only on visual aesthetics and engine bar colours? Outside of the "bright bits", you really need to ride the KTM to see. The GS boxer engine is not comparable to the 1190 V2, not to mention the 1290 which I've not ridden as yet. But that is only my opinion based on ownership of multiple GSAs prior to the 1190A and an RT LC (which is a cracking bike).

That looks like a white wheelie bin with an exhaust attached.:jes

Oi there nothing wrong with that hilux!

I rode the 1190 nice bike, the co-pilot hates KTM.
My GSA is a fine looking beast and plenty of poke for today's roads.
I am back from a 3 month stint riding in Spain. The 1290 would make some sense down there but back to reality and I feel like i cannot open the throttle.
Give the throttle a bit of natural progression and you are up to 130-140kph and it feels normal.
I will try the 1290 but lets face it the places to give it its head are few and far between.
We are past standing in front of the beak in a Burton suit because we rode a bike to quickly.
I don't know if i want the hassle of more performance.
I can borrow my buddies Hayabusa any-time i want but cant be bothered.

Can I just say that the Cruise Control on the Super Adventure is shit .... it's even worse than the one on the Triumph 1200 Explorer. Both are on the wrong handlebar (the twistgrip side) and when you hit RESET button the bike will accelerate past the preset speed by about 5mph before settling back down to the preset speed

Not so much of an issue at 70mph but a potential problem when riding around town and you have set it for 30mph :blast

Here's a very poorly one c/o Advrider
