1290 SUPER ADVENTURE S

Must read the manual.......bike seems ok now and dealer says see how it goes...... top bike tho...who cares if it starts or not..beautiful to look at..:D;)

Messing with the exhaust on a 160 bhp bike has to be expensive. It’s hard to see what even Akraprovic can do to improve it.

Realy - despite the standard exhaust also being used on all models including the 94 hp 1050 Adventure

You don't say if you have tried one?

You are correct I never did say ;)

Never found a demo at my local dealers to have a test ride on to find out. My dislike of 21" front wheels comes from riding F800GS's and more recently owning a Tiger 800 XCX which I got shot of for many reasons including not getting on with the 21" front. Just a personal thing for me as loads of folk have no issue with 21" wheels.

Did have a look at the 1290R at Redline today as they have knocked £1k off at the moment but again no demo :blast

Talking to the sales guy there - they have only sold two 1290 R's all year against 20+ 1290 S's.

That said they valued my low mileage 2016 1190 S at only £7k for a part ex so will be hanging onto it for a couple of years yet ;)

They might be taking the piss on that px value.

I wanted £7k for my 2014 spec 2015 reg 13k mile 1190S but was offered £6,400 with the Touratech panniers removed and £250 off accessories so I was happy enough with that.

They also said I’d have got £600 more against an SAS, again with the luggage removed.

Possibly so but even if it was £8k it would still be £5k/£6k to swap and at the end of the day there is no way a new 1290 will be worth the extra ;)

That’s pretty much how I viewed it last summer when I looked at changing to an SAS. It was only the drop in price on the GT that made me take the jump.
