1290 Super Duke test ride

I won't add insult to injury by telling you what CN ask for to insure my bikes up here but may I suggest a cunning plan;

Use my address for the purposes of your insurance.

Naturally, you will need to keep the bike up here.

Get a train up here (only around two hours from St Pancras) when ever you fancy a ride.

I promise not to disconnect the speedo and take the bike for a thrash around The Peaks. Ever.

Seriously though, I feel your pain, really - I hope you get it sorted....................... as much for my sanity as yours :D

Andres

I feel duty bound to ease your anguish Andres :D Thanks for the very kind and selfless offer but I couldn't possibly be such a nuisance.

I think I have a cunning plan:
My insurance on the Trumpet runs out end of May. This will give me 3 years no claims as opposed to 2 if i buy now. I am loath to lose a years no claims over this shit when every year counts in my position.

I shall therefore (probably :D) go and order the new bike tomorrow for delivery end of May. This will also give me time to get more money together and punt out the Triumph. Bish bash bosh...job's a carrot. Ifangyoo.

Clearly I have the advantage here

£260 for me to insure it, less than 2 hours from kings cross, 40 mins to the Dales..........

Christ ill pay the insurance all melch has to do is pay for the bike

Its a no brainer

As for waiting 2 months I would be suprised if you can get one within that time frame

The same question could be asked of you.....................when does that new Husky arrive at munch towers :augie

Just feck right off

I'm talking to Mr Hilltop tomorrow about turning my 630 into a 710 beater......... :D

Enough to make you weep aint it?

Tell me about it!!!!

I'm glad things are going in the right direction but no celebration just yet, not until you come on here and confirm you've signed on the dotted line young man :)

Andres

I could get one in a week as they have one due in with no buyer currently. Don't tell Andres though, he'll go apoplectic.

How much would you pay to be riding around on a 1290 SD for 2 months? Go even further and break it down to cost per day to be riding the bike you really want to be riding tomorrow and it's peanuts.

Taint though is it. If I throw in a years no claims this year, I pay more this year and the next and the one after until I'm back up to 6 years no claims. I'm loath to give the scum sucking bastards any more than I have to. 2 months I can cope with.

You're letting common sense get in the way of frivolous spending and that's never a good thing.

Frivolously send me a few hundred moolah for the predicted shortfall then. :D

I would but I'm having to be very careful with my redundancy money at the moment. I've only had 4 weeks of messing about doing jobs at home so far and every day the wife suggests something else needs doing so a return to work keeps being delayed.

Any other time I might have been able to help.

Get them to knock two months insurance (value) off the price!!

Like you, I have had very limited dealings regarding the purchase of new motorcycles. Armed with the miniscule info I have about the subject I still think it fair to say the salesman would not give a flying fuck about my insurance predicament.

Waiting two months is a bad idea........something shinier and blingier and more bonkers may come along in the meantime:blast:D

Christ, I never thought of that. What if they bring out something covered with even more anodised orange shite. I'll forever kick myself. :D

Excuses. Just excuses. I paid £190 to insure my S1000R, and I had 4 years no claims at the time.

Just get it bought, and worry about the trivialities later.
