One of the few bikes to excite me at the moment, however when i weigh up what it is capable of, and compare that to what i'm capable of, there appears a huge gap in relative performance.

They had both a black and an orange one at the dealers yesterday. Both had SOLD stickers on and no more bikes coming through untill June yet they had about eight 1190 Adventure and Adventure R's in stock for imediate delivery.
There has been such a build up to this insane machine. Way out of my handling abilities so I'll just get my thrills watching their vid :

Had a good look at it at the NEC, a better look in the dealers yesterday. Cracking piece of kit, but I think I'd miss the protection from some of the elements that the 1190 Adv affords eventually.

Yes Davy makes me laugh the w/c Gs is such a great bike ,I think they forget about all the problems and the amount bikes BMW have exchanged but they would wouldn't they after all they have nowhere else to go , try and Px one outside BMW and you'd be on Big Dipper if any wants it.
SD looks great , but not 14k worth of great.....
Will stick with my 1190 for now.

I know the sidestand springs had to be changed, haven't heard anything about the centrestand.
Other bits and bobs, mine has had the reflective foil added to the underside of the riders seat and a fuel breather and steering damper had to be checked, mine were all fine.
No not the spring , the complete main stand , one broke apparently , so waiting for mine to come in , there is also a software update and something to make the fuel warning a bit more accurate ( mine comes on with 6 litres left)
MAybe you should contact your local dealer and enquire
