Evotech performance loaned my 1290 GT so they could carry out R&D and these are the products they are making.

Rear tail tidy works in conjunction with the panniers and rather then hiding the indicators the position of the tail tidy still allows the indicators to be seen.

Exhaust hanger, when you want to use the panniers you will need to refit the rear pegs, it's a five minute job, 2 m8 fasterners each side.

Mirror extenders, these are ideal if your a big guy, for me tho they serve no purpose because I'm of small build so have removed these.

The quality of the evotech stuff is exceptional and you will be able purchase any of the above items through there website in the nxt coming weeks. www.evotech-performance.com

if you call and mention you have seen my bike on this forum I'm sure they will apply some discount or give a discount code .

Please note: I'm in no way connected to evotech performance so there is no gain on my part, I'm just a simple Bod whom loves motorbikes, i allowed evotech to use my bike for R&D and in return they gave me all the items Foc.

All very well, but have you got a 60mm socket to take rear wheel off?

from the dark side this was sent

How about a picture of the whole bike, I'm lusting over ones of these, but have yet to see one in the flesh, first impressions ?

Yes I certainly will stick a photo of the whole bike in the nxt week, at the mo I have panels off as I'm applying ventureshield to it .

First impressions, quality is outstanding taking into account the multi dvt and the XR I had previously, the panel fit is really a work of art, everything fits like a jigsaw and there's no dodgy panel gaps, paint looks proper lush and it really is a well thought out bike, they have even integrated a chain adjustment mark !

Bottom is min, top is max adjustment.

There's lots of little detail that really makes sense and the tool kit is impressive, I never owned a bike with such a vast amount of tools in a kit !

Performance wise, well I've only run it up and down the rd to set the bars and pegs to suit but it feels as tho it's ready for a fight I'm going to get out on it nxt week to do the run in miles, but my first impressions are very positive .

Height wise well I'm 5'7" 29"leg and on the standard seat I'm on my tip toes, I did buy the touring kit and fitting the ergo seats means it's way too tall so I'll stick with the standard seats.

I've also junked the emissions canister from underneath the rear seat and that's gained additional space.

Strangely SWMBO came into the man shed whilst I was tinkering and said I wasn't aware you had an orange bike ! what is it ! It looks like one of them off rd bikes you have

Nice stuff Dave, Don't forget the picture of the bike. I'm the same size as you, never looked at these as I thought they would be to tall.

I'm looking to change soon been contemplating a super adventure for a while but this has got me thinking!! I'm 6ft and wondering if km to tall for it though! I will go and have a look. Get some pictures up ding!!

So first run out today, ice cream @ Hunstanton, 320 Mile round trip, geez this bike is a serious Gizz machine, even running it in "what ever that means" the performance is outstanding there's no flat spots just immense torque throughout the Rev range, the way it delivers the power is so instant you fight to keep the front end down and I only had the power in street mode ! suspension feels very compliant with me being of small build i left it in comfort and it works very well however pushing on i felt it wallowed a couple times so sport mode should deal with this better, I'm also going to add 5mm more preload (something ktm can do when they plug it in) and will run the bike in sport mode, seat to peg ! I'm 29" leg and it fits me like a glove but the bike feels high because of the wide seat so I'm tip toes if you have longer legs you will probably need to lower the pegs. Stock seat was starting to hurt the ass after 320 miles but I can live with that, I have the ergo seats but they make the bike to tall for me. Screen i left it in the low setting position because it made no difference regardless of setting, there's no buffeting at all i was very impressed with the screen. Fuel computer I'm not sure how accurate because it was stating 320 tank range and giving the bike some stick it was showing 48 mpg (I never brought it for mpg tho) gearbox is really slick with no false neutrals and the quickshifter is great however it's not as good as the XR shifter ! The anti slip thing I paid for works in-keeping the engine rpm inline when Banging down several gears and letting out the clutch (it actually starts to become fun) .

Now this is my opinion, whilst the quickshifter on the XR is better and cruise being on the left grip would be my preferred choice, it's the only 2 things that are better, the bike in general is much better than either the XR or the multi DVT and it would Deffo smoke either .

Seems after my brief ownership of both the XR and DVT ive found a bike that really stirs the soul and is near as perfect for myself.

I was hoping you hated it, so you could sell it to me!:thumb2

The tank range thing is a bit weird (same as the SD). Despite having imperial (miles) showing, the tank range is actually in km. It's a known issue. All a bit odd and why they can't sort it out with a software patch I don't know.

That is the word on the street (well...on the internet actually). Mine does the same.

Cheers for that Melch, I wasn't aware and it makes sense

Sorry GADGET, it's a keeper

On my ktm 1290sa I know a different bike
Set up to kilometers to liters
The range remaining specification is total c..p.
When it goes to 0 km left there are 5 liters left in the tank.

The average consumption is spot on though!!
