Why was he going so slow on a great peice of road like that,I only heard him change gear once, when he was pulling into the car park, and I didn't hear it bounce off the rev limiter either:confused:

There's a memory.... I also live in Atlanta and me and the guys do an annual run up to 'Ride the Dragon' at Deals Gap. We usually get up there via the Cherohala... It's an absolutely fabulous run. Gotta watch out for the police in helipcopters though as they time between two points from the air.

Well thank you! That was me. Haven't visited you guys in awhile. That run was on Anakees, and I didn't think I could go tons faster without sport bike tires. Straights were 85-100 mph. Corners were 55-75 mph, depending on how tight they were.

If you enjoyed that, here are a few more, all on the same 12GS platform. The first is a run through the Sequatchie Valley, just outside my door:

The second is a portion of Deal's Gap, near the Cherohala:

It's really pretty deceiving, to me, at least. For some reason it comes across through the film audio as lower revs than it really is. I've done four track days on the bike and kiss the rev limiter a bunch, but don't much on public roads. But there's a pretty wide powerband on the bike, and I try to keep it between 4-6.5k for these runs. Just seems to work.

On the Deal's Gap video, posted above, it's really more about torque than power, and the torque is there down low with less driveline lash.

Cheers.:)
